How it began…

Born in South Africa, the eldest of 5 girls with an older brother, my childhood years were not easy and in fact I spend most of my time alone with my books, my dog and my imaginary friends. My poetry and questions on life was extraordinary for a child and I was always thought of as a bit “different.” For my roaming and searching spirit it was easy to leave my country. I got married to a charming Arab and spend 17 years of my life in the Middle East, seven of those years were in Saudi Arabia. Upon the outbreak of the Gulf War, we relocated to Jordan.

During this time, lost touch of my own identity, and as to who I was as a woman and desperately wanted to come back to South Africa. My three children were between the ages of two and twelve years old but somehow, I managed to do so. In the years that followed, I realized that my experiences in the Middle East were my life’s greatest gifts and my personal life story that I have created in order to grow. It has moved me onto higher planes of consciousness in the process but what mostly impacted my life, was the loss of my son in a car accident shortly after he completed High School.

The soul-searching questions: Who are we, Why are we here, Where are we going? became a search deep inside me for the meaning of life and the human existence. And this is where the rest of my journey unfolded.
